Once the smallest republic of the Soviet Union, but now a country in its own right, Estonia transformation has been remarkable. The smallest of the three baltic States, Estonia has been heavily influenced by Russia but has its feet firmly placed in Scandinavia. Today Estonia welcomes visitors with its well organised tourism infrastructure that typifies the country's willingness to embrace all things European.

Historical towns and cities, UNESCO World Heritage sites and subdued landscape make this culturally proud nation an enduring enigma.
