   Lochaber     -     Glen Spean

The highland region of Lochaber contains the greatest number, and best known Munros in all of Scotland, including the highest, Ben Nevis. Lochaber is a mountaineering area par excellence with a high concentration of wonderful mountains with memorable routes to their summits. The area is also subject to the full force of atlantic lows during the winter months, which make it a renowned ice climbing and winter walking destination.

Glen Spean is the glen that cuts right through the central highlands linking the Cairngorm mountains with Lochaber and the hills further west. The south of the glen give access to the huge area of desolate land stretching towards Ben Alder and Rannoch Moor, while to the north lies the winter climbing area of Creag Meagaidh.
