Phuket is Thailand's largest island and one of the most popular holiday destinations in South East Asia. It is the most welthest province in the country with up to a million visitiors every year. The northern tip of the island is separated from he mainland by a narrow channel of water only 700m wide.

There is a strong bond between the Thai people and elephants. Elephants hold a revered place in society, because of their symbolic importance to monarchs, religion, and the nation as a whole.
