Tibet is one of the largest regions in Asia covering an area of over a million square kilometres, and lies between Nepal and China. It has an average elevation of 4600m and is one of the world's most isolated regions, surrounded by the Himalayas to the south, the Karakoram Range to the west, and the Kunlun Mountains to the north.
