Baltoro Glacier - Skardu to Askole
The Baltoro Glacier, at over 70 kilometers long, is the longest glacier outside of the polar regions. The seven day walk up the river of ice passes some of the most amazing granite towers and walls on earth and ends at Concordia, the Throne Room of the Mountain Gods, overlooked by K2, the world's largest pyramid.

The journey between Skardu and Askole is not part of the Baltoro Glacier, but the 185km approach via jeep through the Shigar Valley and Braldu gorge. The all day journey is very spectacular passing through mountainous desert scenery to the start of the Baltoro Valley that leads eventually to the Baltoro Glacier and Concordia.
