Central Highlands - Ben Alder
The Central Highlands are defined as the mountains south of an imaginary Dalwhinne to Rannoch Moor line, and are the most frequented hills visited by walkers from the main areas of population in the central belt, most of the mountains being accessible as day trips.

Ben Alder (1148m/3765ft) is a magnificent hill, seen from Dalwhinnie a great distance at the far end of Loch Ericht. It is a huge mountain with with a large north facing corrie and a summit plateau over a kilometre square.
