The area can be reached relatively quickly from the conurbations in the central belt, but the real adventure of visiting this vast area is to penetrate into the remote mountain areas accessible only by foot. Although only a few miles south of Torridon, Applecross has a very remote feel being infrequently visited although relatively accessible by car.
