North West Highlands - Applecross
The North West Highlands are considered by many to be one of the last wilderness regions of Europe. The area can be reached relatively quickly from the conurbations in the central belt, but the real adventure of visiting this vast area is to penetrate into the remote mountain areas accessible only by foot. In many cases this requires a short holiday.

Nestled between Lochcarron and Torridon is the remote peninsula of Applecross with its wild glens and impressive hills that loom out of the mist. Although only a few miles south of Torridon, Applecross has a very remote feel being infrequently visited although relatively accessible by car.
